Governor Charlie Crist and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) are continuing to advocate bicycle use by residents and tourists throughout the month of March.  Florida Bicycle Month is also supported by the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Bicycle Association.

The Governor’s signed proclamation explains how the bicycle’s role as a transportation alternative for commuting to work and school.

With bicycling being a popular recreation sport as well, Florida has eight state trails, mountain bike trails and paved bicycle trails.  More information on Florida’s greenways and trails can be found here.
