Kelly Burnett, Director of eCommerce & Leisure Sales, has been active in communicating the recent One Palm Certification in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program. The Omni Hotel is working towards earning their Two Palm status from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The Florida Green Lodging Program launched in March 2004 and establishes guidelines for hotels “to conserve natural resources and prevent pollution” (Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection). For those attending the Green Cities Florida conference next month and would like to book a room, during your stay in Orlando, you may do so here. The Omni is nestled around the Orange County wetlands and provides a retreat away from the main buzz of the city. Be sure to make your reservations early, as the Omni provides a 21-day advance booking rate starting at $126 during the Green Cities Conference; however, those rates are non-refundable and requires full pre-payment. Below is more information about the resort! Congratulations to Mark Krupinski for winning the 2-night stay at ChampionsGate from the @GreenCitiesNews tweetaway!
This four-diamond resort is surrounded by 1,200 acres of well-preserved wetlands, 36 holes of Greg Norman designed golf, and the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, in the master-planned community of ChampionsGate, located within 25 minutes of the Orange County Convention Center.
In addition to superb golf, guests enjoy five restaurants on-site; a European-style spa; 15 acres of recreation including: zero-entry family pool, pool slide and nearby water playground; an 850-foot lazy river; formal pool with private cabanas; sand volleyball, tennis, basketball; and lighted 9-hole par 3 golf experience.
